Lucques olives are cultivated in the southern Languedoc region. These croissant-shaped olives are meaty, with a sweet nutty flavor.
Brunel, founded by Eugène Brunel in 1912, has become a reference when it comes to olives and pickles. The company, based near Nîmes, is still owned and managed by the Brunel family.

My favorite olives are the Green Picholine Olives. We eat them almost every day. Simply Gourmand was out of stock so we tried the Green Lucques. They have a good flavor. The brine is nice and salty - not too much vinegar. My only complaint is that they are softer than the Picholine olive.
