Hénaff pork rillettes are a French favorite. Great for picnics and snacks, they should be served chilled but not ice cold, spread on bread or toast. Add a few cornichons, et voila! : you're back to France. Contains no coloring agents or preservatives, just slowly cooked pork meat and fat, salt and pepper.
Hénaff is a century-old pâté producer based in the village of Pouldreuzic, in the Bretagne region. Hénaff pâtés and rillettes are dear to many French gourmands and praised for their quality and taste (there are several dozens of Pâté Hénaff fan clubs on Facebook!). Hénaff has remained a local family-owned business to this day, even though its meat preparations are now exported all around the world.

I love the Hénaff Pork Rillettes. The quality is extremely good. The only downside is that this item is pricey considering it comes in such a small container. I can eat this in one sitting without a problem. But because of the cost compared with the amount (small), I do not order it very often. If it was more affordable, I would. Rillettes bought at any outdoor French market are much, much cheaper, and fresh to boot! Too bad.

Thought I was ordering a rillettes product which I really enjoy. This is more of a ground pate spread - more of a finished spread - a little dry and not particularly tasty. I will stick with goose & duck rillettes in the future.

Just like when I was a youngster, I used to go to a Charcuterie and ask for a slice, taste exact same even though it is in a can!
